Ciao Napoli

Can’t believe its already been 40 days since I’ve been in Italy. In such a short time I’ve met the most amazing people, eaten too much pizza, pasta, and gelato, drank too much alcohol and been running on minimal sleep. We have 4 more nights and 5 more days. Tonight the boys are playing football tonight, Wednesday night we are having our last house party, Thursday night is our goodbye party/welcome party for the new interns, and on Friday its gonna be our last night out together and I think we’re going to Aldo’s End of the World party.

Bunch of new interns are settling into the dorms, and right now we have Venezuela, Serbia, Egypt, Russia, Greece, Australia, India, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Singapore under one roof. Pretty cool having the opportunity to meet so many people all over the world :)

On Saturday Ryan, Alejandro and I are going to Rome for a night then jetting off to Madrid for 5 days. So excited about Spain and also for summer in Perth. How I miss the sunshine. Haven’t really got much planned for Christmas itself, so we shall see how that goes. Excited to try some Paella, Jamon and churros! Definitely gonna have to detox big time when I get home, my excuse for everything right now is that I’m in Europe so its okay, but no seriously I need to stop using that excuse. Shit be getting real. Oh man, today Tanya brought me to try Baba (a unique neapolitan pastry) with white chocolate on Via Roma, so so so good!

Definitely gonna be sad saying goodbye to everyone on Saturday. My lovely Polish girl Magda left me on Monday and I already miss her! But we will meet again in Poland during the Summer soon enough ;). We promised each other that we will have a GMT (long story) reunion, possibly in Poland or Brazil for the World Cup in 2014. And we’re getting GMT hoodies made up which are gonna be pretty sweet!

Gonna make a movie from all the little clips over my trip when I have the time too. I’m starting to gather souvenirs and presents for friends and family now, running out of tiiimmeee. Especially exclusively Neapolitan things like Limoncello!

I am currently in Piazza Bellini with a few students waiting to start our project today. We have to design a tour each week for a month and showcase the destinations to potential customers. We are working for Kaleidoscope Tours and today we are going to Gesu Nuovo, and a few other churches in the Decumani (three roads built by the Greek Romans which run through the easy to the west of the historical centre in Napoli). Really enjoying the program so far, our typical day is making breakfast of grabbing a chocolate croissant on the way to the metro station, walking to work, visiting the other interns at work on our lunch break, going to the gym, shopping, making dinner together and going out for drinks :)
I don’t think I have drank this much alcohol and ate so many carbs in my life but thank god for the gym. The food here is so amazing I keep making myself feel better by thinking that I might as well have it all while I’m here, right?

We’re moving houses at the end of this week so we should hopefully be in a huge dorm all together which will be good. And on the weekend of the 14th Dec we will all be going to Rome for the weekend. Anyways better preserve my battery so till next time!
